Audio Interview with Rita McKeough, Wilderment, 2010
Below are snippets taken from a conversation between Amy Fung and Rita McKeough on May 26, 2010, at the Art Gallery of Alberta. McKeough's piece, "Wilderment", premieres on May 29 at the AGA as part of The 2010 Alberta Biennial of Contemporary Art: Timeland. Speaking to the idea of time running out, McKeough takes a 10 minute breather from her laborious installation to speak about her new work. Also: the new third floor terrace cafe proved to be extra noisy, so excuse the excessive clanging!

The audio track with Rita McKeough's reflectons on her noisy new plant was great! The clanging from the café lent an audio parallel to the feeling she describes from encountering a wall of suburb crashing across open prairie. I also liked that it was divided into those short bits, harder, though, to say why. Her installation is very fine.
